How the Assessment Works

  • Duration: The CogAT assessment takes approximately three hours.

  • Cost: The assessment is offered for 750 Qatari Riyals.

Holistic Consideration: Entry into the programme is based on an aggregate review of all assessment scores, combined with teacher recommendations and additional indicators of gifted potential.

Conversation and Support: If your child’s score is close to the required benchmark, we will have a thoughtful conversation with them to highlight their strengths and explore how we can support their growth. Our goal is to ensure that this experience becomes an opportunity for encouragement and learning, empowering your child to continue building on their potential.

Identifying Gifted and Talented Students

At Lighthouse Academy, we are committed to helping students realise their full potential. Our Gifted and Talented Programme uses the CogAT (Cognitive Abilities Test) to identify reasoning strengths across Verbal, Quantitative, and Nonverbal (Visual-Spatial) domains.

Is your child is gifted?

Every child is unique, but some children display exceptional abilities, curiosity, or creativity that may indicate they are gifted. Gifted children often show advanced learning capabilities, an extraordinary capacity for problem-solving, or a keen interest in exploring complex ideas from an early age. Identifying and nurturing these talents can unlock their full potential and provide them with the support they need to thrive academically and personally.

If you’re unsure whether the CogAT test is right for your child, we’re here to guide you. Book a consultation below to gain insights into your child’s abilities and explore opportunities to nurture their potential.
