Advanced Research Projects
Students conduct original research on topics of their choice, aiming to produce new knowledge or insights. These semester-long projects involve periodic milestones to track progress. Activities include literature review, hypothesis formulation, data collection and analysis, and presentation of findings. The outcome is a comprehensive research paper or a presentation at a conference or symposium, showcasing their findings and contributing to the academic community.
Innovation Challenges
In Innovation Challenges, students develop innovative solutions to real-world problems, including participation in Destination Imagination. These projects are competitive and project-based, involving problem identification, brainstorming, prototype development, testing, and participation in Destination Imagination challenges. The outcomes are innovative products or solutions presented at a showcase event and participation in regional, state, or global competitions, demonstrating creativity and practical problem-solving skills.
Students develop and launch their own business ideas or social enterprises through long-term projects with mentorship and support. Activities include business plan development, market research, product development, and pitching to potential investors. The outcome is either the launch of a new business or a detailed business plan, equipping students with entrepreneurial skills and practical experience in business creation.
Entrepreneurship Projects
Creative Writing and Publication
In Creative Writing and Publication, students write and publish original works, such as novels, poetry collections, or research articles. These projects can be independent or collaborative, involving writing workshops, peer reviews, and the publication process. The outcome is the publication of their works in journals, magazines, or books, allowing students to express their creativity and share their voices with a wider audience.
STEM Competitions
Students participate in national or international STEM competitions, including Gizmos, with guided preparation and participation. Activities involve research, experimentation, and presentation of findings or inventions, using tools like Gizmos for simulations and problem-solving. The outcome is competition entries with potential awards or recognition, fostering innovation and excellence in STEM fields.
Performance Arts and Exhibitions
Students create and perform original works in the visual or performing arts through project-based activities culminating in public performances or exhibitions. Activities include scriptwriting, choreography, set design, rehearsals, and the final performance. The outcome is a public performance, art exhibition, or digital showcase, highlighting students' artistic talents and creative expression.
Interdisciplinary Projects
Students work on projects that integrate multiple disciplines to solve complex problems. These collaborative projects involve cross-disciplinary teams working on research, problem-solving, and integration of knowledge from different fields. In Technology and Coding Projects, students develop advanced technology projects, such as software applications or robotic systems, with mentorship and technical support. Activities include coding, debugging, hardware integration, and user testing. The outcome is functional technology prototypes or software applications, demonstrating technical proficiency and innovation in technology development.
