Step I - Make application
To apply for a place for your child at Lighthouse Academy Online, please complete this Online Application Form (click here).
Our friendly admissions team will then contact you promptly to arrange an assessment for your child.
Assessment times will be pre-booked and will require a non-refundable application fee of 100 Qatari riyals or equivalent to your local currency at the time of payment (payable via bank transfer).
For those that applied for the Gifted and Talented programme, additional assessments will also be pre-booked and will require a non-refundable fee between QAR 250 to QAR 400. These students will be assessed in the following test that would provide a well-rounded approach to identifying gifted students. The combination covers both cognitive reasoning and academic achievement, ensuring the capture of different types of giftedness:
CAT4 (Cognitive Abilities Test) – Identifies reasoning abilities across verbal, non-verbal, quantitative, and spatial domains for gifted and talented placement. Qualifying Score: Students need to score in the top 10-15% percentile of their age group across the combined reasoning domains (verbal, non-verbal, quantitative, and spatial).
NNAT3 (Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test) – Assesses nonverbal reasoning and problem-solving skills, particularly effective for diverse student populations. Qualifying Score: A score within the 90th percentile or above is required.
NWEA MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) – Measures and tracks academic performance in key subjects like math and reading to identify academic growth and potential. Qualifying Score: Students should achieve scores that place them in the top 10-15% percentile in their age group, specifically in math and reading.
Notes for Parents:
Holistic Consideration: Entry into the programme is based on an aggregate review of all assessment scores, combined with teacher recommendations and additional indicators of gifted potential.
Retesting and Support: If a student’s score is close to the required percentile, further evaluation or support options may be available to help them qualify for the programme.
